Admissions

2025-2026 Academic Year Admissions

For the 2025-2026 school year, ICSAtlanta is accepting applications in Knd through 3rd grade.

Kindergarten Admissions

Admission is open to all rising kindergarten students who are Georgia residents, regardless of experience or proficiency in a language offered at ICSAtlanta (target language).

1st through 3rd Grade Admissions

In accordance with guidelines set forth by the Georgia Department of Education (SBOE Rule 160-4-9-.05), International Charter School of Atlanta (ICSAtlanta) may accept students for enrollment in 1st through higher grades who meet proficiency standards in French, German, Mandarin Chinese (simplified), or Spanish through the STAMP 4Se language assessment.

Students who wish to apply to ICSAtlanta in 1st through 3rd grade must take ICSAtlanta’s language proficiency assessment and meet the proficiency minimums outlined below before they will be allowed to apply. If the minimum required score is not met, the student will not be able to apply for admission.

There is no cost to take the assessment. All scores are final, and the assessment may not be retaken in the same school year.

Any student who meets the proficiency qualifications, and whose parent submits an application will be offered enrollment if/when slots become available.

2025-2026 Admissions Timeline

January 2nd – January 31st: Initial Application Period

All interested prospective students must apply during this time period in order to be included in the lottery.

February 3rd: Lottery (Virtual via Zoom) at 10 AM

If the number of applicants during the Initial Application Period exceeds the number of spaces available in any grade, ICSAtlanta will ensure that such applicants have an equal chance of being admitted through an electronic, random-selection lottery. Please reference our school's calendar (on our homepage) for the Zoom link for the lottery.

February-September: Open Enrollment

Applications will continue to be accepted and added to the end of the waitlist. Admissions and enrollment will continue on a rolling basis as space permits until enrollment is closed.

Language Track Policy

Every new student at ICSAtlanta is assigned a language track: French, German, Mandarin, or Spanish. ICSAtlanta makes every effort to grant students their first-choice language track; however, this is not always possible.

Please see our Admissions & Lottery Procedures below for more specific information.

PLEASE NOTE:

  • There will be no language-specific waitlists.

  • Due to the nature of our dual language immersion program, we do not allow for changes in language tracks after enrollment (within the same year or from one year to the next).

Before You Apply

  • Applicants for kindergarten must be 5 years old on or before September 1, 2025.

  • Applicants for 1st grade must be 6 years old on or before September 1, 2025, regardless of completing Kindergarten at a private school.

Helpful Information

  • Choosing a school for your child is a very personal decision, and no one knows your child better than you do! Since ICSAtlanta offers dual language immersion (DLI), ensure that your child will be ready to learn and thrive in an environment where he or she is challenged in another language.

  • DLI requires patience, diligence, and a willingness to commit to the long-term benefits of DLI.

  • DLI programs provide many cognitive benefits for students – regardless of the language! Be open to any language track. Parents need not speak or understand the language their child is learning.
